Scotts Miracle-Gro is preparing to launch a new herbicide for organic gardening next year as company concerns grow over the Roundup weedkiller brand name.
Scotts has marketed and sold Monsanto Co.'s Roundup—now part of Bayer AG—for home and garden use since 1998. But the recent negative publicity from lawsuits on the safety of glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup, has Scotts looking for alternatives.
