Schumer Says House Energy Package ‘Dead-on-Arrival’ in Senate

A major energy package the Republican-controlled House plans to bring to the floor later this month is “dead-on-arrival” in the Senate, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Wednesday.

  • “Republicans’ so-called energy proposal is as bad and partisan as it gets,” Schumer said on the Senate floor
  • NOTE: H.R. 1, formally introduced by Republicans on Tuesday, would limit environmental reviews for energy projects, mandate more oil sales on federal lands and waters and repeal methane fee in Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act
