Ongoing repairs to water infrastructure in San Luis Obispo County, Cal., threaten several endangered species’ habitats, environmental groups claimed in a new suit.
San Luis Obispo Coastkeeper and three other groups alleged the county’s maintenance on the Lopez Dam, Lake, Water Treatment Plant, and Terminal Reservoir has violated the Endangered Species Act and California Law in a complaint filed to the US District Court for the Central District of California. The groups claim the maintenance uproots vegetation and disrupts stream patterns that endangered fish, turtles, and birds rely on.
