San Francisco’s reparations program for Black residents discriminates based on race and ancestry, an advocacy group claims in a new lawsuit.

“Though presented as a response to slavery, San Francisco’s plan will impose sweeping racial classifications on present-day residents who neither endured enslavement nor inflicted it,” said the complaint filed Thursday in California Superior Court, San Francisco County by the Californians for Equal Rights Foundation.
