San Francisco Scores Pause on Homeless Camp Sweeps Litigation

A federal judge paused litigation challenging San Francisco’s practice of dismantling of homeless encampments, while the US Supreme Court decides a similar case out of Oregon.

Magistrate Judge Donna M. Ryu of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Friday granted San Francisco’s request for a stay until the high court decides the appeal of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruling in Johnson v. City of Grants Pass.
