San Diego’s Counterclaims for Navy Facility Cleanup Fall Short

The City of San Diego must go back to the drawing board for some of its counterclaims against the US over cleanup costs at a former Navy training facility, a federal judge ruled.

The city argued that it could incur costs separate from those associated with the federal government’s Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act suit if it’s forced to accept the San Diego Boat Channel site and clean up historical sediment contamination.
