San Bernardino Forest Project Will Harm Bald Eagles, Suit Says

The US Forest Service unlawfully approved a logging project in the San Bernardino National Forest that will affect nesting bald eagles, environmental groups allege in a federal complaint.

The agency greenlighted the North Big Bear Landscape Restoration Project—which would remove trees and vegetation through prescribed burning, logging, and thinning on 13,000 acres—without taking a hard look at its environmental impacts, Friends of the Big Bear Valley and other groups say in their complaint.
