Russian Uranium Import Ban Clears US House Subcommittee

A House subcommittee voted Tuesday to clear legislation that would limit the import of Russian uranium to the US as efforts to break free from the Kremlin’s nuclear reactor fuel gains traction on Capitol Hill.

The bill, which would bar the import of enriched Russian uranium 90 days after enactment, was approved by the House Energy, Climate and Grid Security Subcommittee on a vote of 18-12.
