Restored Wolverine Protection Proposal Draws Appeal by Interior

The Biden administration will appeal to the Ninth Circuit to overturn a judge’s order restoring a proposal to protect a certain population of wolverines under the Endangered Species Act, according to a filing in a Montana federal court.

The notice of appeal filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Montana seeks to continue a long-running dispute over whether to list the wolverine in the contiguous US as a threatened species.
