Republicans Advance Repeal of Biden Moves to Limit Energy Leases

House Republicans passed three measures Wednesday night that would reverse Biden-era restrictions related to fossil fuel energy development on federal lands in the West.

The disapproval resolutions would unlock millions of acres of Bureau of Land Management land to coal, oil, and gas leasing in North Dakota, Montana, and Alaska. The measures (H.J. Res. 104, H.J. Res. 105 and H.J. Res. 106) won passage under the Congressional Review Act. Republican senators have introduced companion resolutions for North Dakota and Montana.
