Rep. Dan Kildee (D-Mich.) said Monday the military continues to delay cleaning up toxic PFAS chemicals at a former military base, but the Air Force said investigation is necessary before cleanup can begin.
Kildee sent a letter to the Secretary of the Air Force calling for the government to “stop studying and start acting” on cleanup near the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Mich. The Oscoda community faces health advisories on fishing, swimming, and hunting deer and small game due to PFAS in the environment.
