EPA’s order to shut down a U.S. Virgin Islands refinery shows the agency will protect communities that suffer disproportionately from pollution exposure, EPA Administrator Michael Regan said Tuesday.
“Without strong civil, criminal and cleanup enforcement, we can’t deliver on EPA’s mission to protect human health and the environment,” Regan said in remarks before the online Michigan Environmental Justice Conference.
