Reddy Ice Phoenix has agreed to pay $182,659 in civil penalties to settle alleged violations of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Act in Phoenix, according to the EPA Tuesday.
The company allegedly failed to prevent the accidental release of anhydrous ammonia at its ice manufacturing facility, the agency said.
Reddy Ice allegedly failed to comply with design codes and standards, maintain inspection on equipment, and correct engineering control deficiencies which would violate section 112 of the Clean Air Act, the EPA said.
