A draft environmental impact statement for what could be New Jersey’s first offshore wind farm has been released by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
The proposed Ocean Wind 1 would be a 1,100-megawatt operation estimated to yield $1.17 billion in economic benefits for the state. The new draft development is the “culmination of extensive technical evaluations and multi-agency coordination over the last year,” the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection said in a Monday release.
