Polish Court Revokes $6.3b Fine on Gazprom for Nord Stream 2

A Polish court revoked a 29.1 billion zloty ($6.3 billion) fine imposed by the country’s anti-monopoly office on Gazprom PJSC over the Nord Stream 2 subsea pipeline carrying Russian natural gas to Germany.

The antitrust authority, known by its Polish acronym UOKiK, in 2020 slapped the record fine on Gazprom and its partners, which were additionally ordered to pay about 234 million zloty, for failing to get its approval for a joint venture to finance the pipeline. UOKiK said it will appeal the Polish court decision.
