Pipeline company Navigator Heartland Greenway LLC and its affiliates are challenging regulations from Story County, Iowa, and its board of supervisors over the construction of carbon dioxide sequestration pipelines.
Navigator, which is developing an interstate CO2 pipeline known as the Heartland Greenway Pipeline System, claimed July 28 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Iowa that the ordinance from the county is unlawful and preempted by the federal Pipeline Safety Act.
