Pigment Company Sues EPA to Protect Its Chemical Trade Secrets

A small, Georgia-based company that produces clay-based chemicals for specialty coating, plastics, rubber, and cement markets is asking a federal court to block the EPA from releasing the company’s trade secrets.

The complaint that Burgess Pigment Company filed on July 18 also asks the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia to conclude the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to release the company’s confidential business information violates the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
