PG&E Wildfire Conduct Could Potentially Violate Probation

Federal prosecutors are weighing in on a U.S. judge’s request for legal analysis of possible repercussions for PG&E Corp. if its conduct involving 2017 and 2018 wildfires in Northern California broke criminal laws.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in San Francisco said a finding that PG&E violated state law by engaging in reckless operation of power lines could violate its terms of probation after the utility was convicted of safety violations in the aftermath of a 2010 fatal gas pipeline explosion.
