PFAS Science Ruling for Fire Foam Cases Coming Soon (Correct)

Rulings on the science that will be admitted into the initial drinking water utility lawsuits involving alleged damages from PFAS-based firefighting foams should be released soon, according to attorneys tracking the multidistrict litigation.

The first bellwether trial, City of Stuart v. 3M Co., is set for June 5. Parties are in the last phases of briefing the Daubert standard, or standard for scientific testimony and evidence, that the US District Court for the District of South Carolina should apply, James Bilsborrow, cochair of Weitz & Luxenberg PC’s Environmental, Toxic Tort & Consumer Protection group, said Thursday.
