Zoono USA and Zoono Holdings will pay $205,000 and $120,000 respectively to settle violations with the US Environmental Protection Agency regarding misleading pesticide claims, according to EPA Wednesday.
The companies allegedly distributed the pesticide, Zoono Microbe Shield, with false claims about its ability to be used as a disinfectant, including against the virus that causes Covid-19, conduct that would violate the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act, said the agency.
In addition to the civil penalties, the companies are required to reflect actions taken and become compliant with FIFRA, the agency said.
