The range of PFAS-containing products the Pentagon would be barred from purchasing and number of PFAS covered by the prohibition would be expanded in the annual defense policy bill the House approved Friday.
The House, with a 219-210 vote, authorized $886 billion for the Pentagon’s fiscal 2024 activities in its bill (H.R. 2670) that funds the departments of Defense, Energy, and other agencies.
The legislation now moves to the Senate, which is considering its own bill (S. 2226) that differs in many ways, including the mandates it would impose on the Pentagon regarding per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). ...
