Pennsylvania Report Offers Strategies for Adapting to Climate Change Effects

WASHINGTON, D.C.—A report by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection outlines “practical implementation strategies” for addressing climate change impacts to human health, natural resources, and the built environment in Pennsylvania.

According to the agency, the Pennsylvania Climate Adaptation Planning Report: Risks and Practical Recommendations, issued Jan. 27, represents the first statewide effort addressing the need for climate adaptation planning in the commonwealth. The report recommends adaptation actions in four separate sectors: infrastructure, public health and safety, natural resources, and tourism and outdoor recreation.
