Law professor Robin Morris Collin has been appointed senior adviser on the EPA’s environmental justice efforts, the agency announced Tuesday.
In her new role, Collin will have a direct line to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan, counseling him on priority issues affecting low-income communities of color as they arise.
She is likely to be at the fulcrum of the Biden administration’s plan to deliver 40% of the benefits of federal investments to disadvantaged communities, create more accurate metrics for tracking environmental justice performance, and hold corporations responsible for historic pollution in environmental justice neighborhoods.
