An Ohio political organization pleaded guilty Friday in an alleged scheme to bribe politicians with millions of dollars in donations from FirstEnergy Corp.—all in an effort to approve and protect a $900 million nuclear power subsidy.
Generation Now funneled more than $60 million of corporate money into the scheme, creating a massive ratepayer credit for FirstEnergy former subsidiary Energy Harbor’s two northern Ohio nuclear plants, according to the company’s plea agreement.
