Oglebay Norton Co. has potential Superfund liability for at least part of a $4 million cleanup of slag at a metal plant formerly operated by its subsidiary, a federal court in Texas ruled.
The ruling is the latest in a long-running dispute over who is liable for the cleanup of the metal waste at a site in El Paso adjacent to a smelter formerly operated by the American Smelting and Refining Co.
