Nuclear Institute Says More Time for Solvent Rule Aids Energy

The EPA’s proposal to give certain industries more time to comply with worker safety provisions of two solvent rules will help the nuclear industry supply fuel and operate safely, according to the a trade association.

In recent comments, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) praised the Environmental Protection Agency’s March proposal to extend multiple workplace safety deadlines set in rules the agency issued in 2024 for perchloroethylene (PCE) and carbon tetrachloride (CTC).
