The Nuclear Energy Institute is asking a federal court to dismiss NextEra Energy Inc.'s lawsuit alleging the lobbying group is trying to extort the company for $860,000 in membership and other fees.
The motion to dismiss, filed Feb. 26, is the latest development in the fallout between the nuclear power industry’s primary trade and lobbying group and two nuclear power plant operators, NextEra and Entergy Corp., which announced their exit from the organization in January.
