North Dakota Seeks Consultation on Dakota Access Pipeline’s Fate

North Dakota’s top legal official is calling on the Biden administration to consult with the state before taking any action that could disrupt the Dakota Access pipeline.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (R) on Friday sent a letter to the Army Corps of Engineers asking to be involved in decisionmaking about the Energy Transfer LP project’s fate after a federal court affirmed earlier this year that its approval violated federal law.

Anticipation is high among pipeline advocates and opponents ahead of an April 9 hearing where the Biden administration is expected to tell a federal judge how it plans to proceed. ...
