North Carolina Resident Class Approved in DuPont, Chemours Case

A federal district court has approved the formation of a class of North Carolina residents who seek reimbursement for property damage that allegedly stems from PFAS.

Judge James C. Dever of the US District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina approved on Wednesday a motion seeking certification for a class that plaintiffs estimate could reach 100,000 property owners.

The residents want the Chemours Co. FC LLC, which now owns a Fayetteville, N.C., factory and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., the factory’s former owner, to pay for water filters, hot water heaters, water pipes, and ...
