NGL Eyes Mini Nuclear Reactors to Power Oil Wastewater Cleanup

NGL Energy Partners LP, an Oklahoma-based pipeline operator, is evaluating ways to power some of its water-treatment operations using small nuclear reactors under development by Natura Resources LLC.

NGL handles more than 3 million barrels of toxic wastewater from Permian Basin oil and natural gas wells daily and has agreed to pursue efforts to incorporate Natura’s 100-megawatt reactor into its treatment operations, according to a statement Tuesday.
