Next Set of PFAS Water Cases Named in Multidistrict Litigation

A federal judge has named four water utility lawsuits from which a case will be selected to be the first as multidistrict PFAS litigation against chemical and firefighting foam manufacturers continues.

Judge Richard M. Gergel, of the US District Court for the District of South Carolina, announced on Sept. 13 four towns and utilities in California, New Jersey, New York, and South Dakota to serve as the pool for the next bellwether cases to focus on telomer manufacturers and users in In re Aqueous Film-Forming Foams Prods. Liab. Litig. MDL 2873.
