New York Metal Recycling Facility Sued Under Clean Water Act

The owners and operators of a New York scrap metal and recycling facility were sued by the federal government for alleged failure to comply with the terms and conditions of a stormwater discharge permit issued under the Clean Water Act United States v. Grimmel Industries, 16-cv-1103, 9/9/16.

Grimmel Industries LLC and Rensselaer Iron & Steel Inc., the owners and operators of the scrap metal facility in Rensselaer, N.Y. , are alleged to have made discharges in excess of permitted limits and failed to comply with corrective action requirements.
