N.Y. Mandates Low-Carbon Concrete for State Construction (1)

New York has adopted new mandates requiring that any concrete used in a state-funded building or transportation project must meet low-carbon standards.

The plan, rolled out on Tuesday, is the latest step from Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) to move New York toward its goal of reaching net-zero emissions across the entire economy by 2050.

The guidelines are the first in the nation to implement greenhouse gas emission limits across all state agency projects, according to Hochul’s office.
