New York lawmakers voted Wednesday to prohibit the use of the herbicide glyphosate on state land by the end of next year.
The state Legislature passed a measure (S.6502A/A.732B) that would prohibit the use of the herbicide on state land such as parks, certain campgrounds, and on state colleges and universities as of Dec. 31, 2021. It passed the state Senate 45-15 and the Assembly 101 to 41.
