The EPA was premature in certifying that General Electric Co. had finished cleaning up polychlorinated biphenyl pollution in the upper Hudson River, New York said in an Aug. 21 lawsuit.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York, followed a threat by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) and state Attorney General Letitia James (D) to challenge the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision in April to grant GE a certificate of completion after a five-year review of the cleanup.
