COPENHAGEN—Denmark has launched an online portal to provide current data on the condition of the ice in the Arctic region.
The site will publish regular reports on the state of the Greenlandic ice sheet and Arctic sea ice, as well as updates on surface temperatures, glacier movements, and the ice mass balance, the country’s Climate, Energy, and Building Ministry said June 21. Supported by two government bodies—the Danish Energy Authority and the Dancea Climate Fund—the site aims to “make updated information … available to the general public, both nationally and internationally,” and provide access to related resources.
