The hired hands of the oil patch are getting a larger trade association to represent them -- and one that has dropped the name of the commodity altogether.
The newly created Energy Workforce & Technology Council, representing 600 companies in the oil and gas services industry, was announced in a statement Monday. It combines the Petroleum Equipment and Services Association, or PESA, and the Association of Energy Service Companies.
