New Mexico’s Environmental Improvement Board adopted a PFAS in consumer products rule Monday, adding the state to a handful of others working to phase the chemicals out of many products.
Under the state’s law, the board must adopt and promulgate nearly all regulations the department administers. The final rule will be released after incorporating changes the board made during a two-week trial-like hearing with public speakers, written comments, and industry suggested revisions to the draft regulation.
