New Jersey Wind Projects Hit With Another Challenge From Locals

Groups representing homeowners and businesses challenged on Friday several federal agencies’ approvals of a wind project offshore of New Jersey, saying it will negatively effect the area’s tourism industry and marine life.

The National Marine Fisheries Service and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management failed to comply with numerous statutes when approving the project, Save Long Beach Island Inc., Miss Belmar Whale Watching Inc., the Garden State Seafood Association, and others said in their complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
