New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) announced Wednesday an accelerated goal of reaching 100% clean energy by 2035, 15 years sooner than the state’s previous target date.
The announcement came as part of a suite of new initiatives, including a target to install zero-carbon space heating and cooling systems in 400,000 homes and 20,000 commercial properties, and to make 10% of all low- to moderate-income properties ready for electrification by 2030.
