New Head of EPA Chemicals Office Was Former Energy Official

The EPA named a new director for the office that oversees chemical pollution.

Yvette T. Collazo became the director of the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics within the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, an Environmental Protection Agency spokesperson said on Monday.

  • Collazo’s office manages programs under the Toxic Substances Control Act and the Pollution Prevention Act. Her role also includes overseeing stewardship programs that encourage companies to reduce and prevent pollution.
  • Her EPA appointment became effective on Sunday. She replaces Jeffrey Morris, who recently retired.
