New Hampshire has new limits on four common types of so-called forever chemicals in drinking water, under a new law that also helps towns pay to cleanup PFAS contamination.
Gov. Chris Sununu (R) on Thursday signed the bill (HB 1264) targeting per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS. In addition to lowering permitted amounts and remediation aid, the measure requires health insurers to cover tests for PFAS in blood and extends a commission studying a pediatric cancer cluster believed linked to PFAS contamination.
