New EPA Emissions Data Touts Success of Good Neighbor Ozone Plan

Contested traveling pollution actions are already showing successes from their first summer ozone season, according to emissions data released this week by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The EPA announced the “Good Neighbor” emissions data on Thursday, and said the results from the 2023 summer season demonstrate the program’s efficacy.

“This early data shows that the Good Neighbor Plan is a workable and effective rule, using EPA’s proven, flexible framework to deliver pollution reductions while preserving the ability of the power industry to deliver reliable and affordable electricity,” Joseph Goffman, principal deputy assistant administrator of EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation, ...
