A wind energy company and local landowners challenged updates to a Nebraska county’s regulations that allegedly had the “unequivocal goal” of hindering a wind farm’s construction.
The amendments block North Fork Wind LLC and the landowners from the “constitutionally protected use of their property” for the wind farm, and the county hasn’t paid just compensation for the alleged taking, said the complaint filed Aug. 23 in the US District Court for the District of Nebraska.
