‘Natural’ Label on Aveeno Baby Washes Called Deceptive in Class-Action Lawsuit

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Cos. mislabeled its Aveeno-brand Baby Wash and Shampoo and Aveeno Baby Calming Comfort Bath products as “Natural Oat Formula” even though the products contain synthetic ingredients and carcinogens, according to a putative consumer class-action lawsuit filed in a federal court (Virgil v. Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc., D.N.J.).

The lawsuit, which was filed Jan. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, contends the phrase found on the products’ principal display panels is misleading to consumers.
