National Park Service Sued for Approving South Florida Waterpark

The National Park Service has failed to protect a number of species from a waterpark and retail development in South Florida, conservation groups alleged in a new lawsuit.

Miami Wilds’ 27.5 acre waterpark, hotel, and retail development, with 40 acres of associated parking lots, threatens to harm endangered species including the Florida bonneted bat, Miami tiger beetle, and Bartram’s scrub-hairstreak, the Center for Biological Diversity and other groups alleged in a lawsuit.
