Nantucket Challenges Wind Farm Approvals Over Tourism Concerns

The Town and County of Nantucket, Mass., on Thursday sued the Interior Department for its approvals of an industrial offshore wind farm, saying the project will disrupt the area’s tourism-driven economy.

Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management didn’t take a hard look at the project’s effects on the environment or the area’s historical properties, Nantucket said in its complaint filed with the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
