Move to Electrify Puts US Security at Risk, Gas Industry Argues

The push by the Biden administration and some activists to electrify heating and cooking to reduce carbon emissions puts US energy and economic security at risk, energy industry leaders said Thursday.

Natural gas should be central to decarbonization and climate goals, Karen Harbert, president and CEO of the American Gas Association, told Bloomberg Law on the sidelines of a forum in Washington hosted by the US Energy Association.
