Montana Logging Project Threatens Lynx, Grizzlies, Suit Says

The U.S. Forest Service failed to fully consider the impact to lynx, grizzly bears, and elk when it approved a logging and road building project on national forest lands in Montana, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in a federal court in the state.

The agency’s approval of the Greater Red Lodge Area Vegetation and Habitat Management Project violates the National Environmental Policy Act and National Forest and Management Act, environmental groups tell the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.
