The US Forest Service improperly assessed a Montana logging project using an insufficient forest management plan, environmental groups alleged in a new suit.
The Native Ecosystems Council, Alliance for the Wild Rockies, and Council on Fish and Wildlife said in a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Montana that the agency failed to provide sufficient analysis and data behind the approvals of both the Wood Duck logging project and the 2021 Revised Forest Plan for the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest.
